ABOUT US

2010: THE ADVENTURE IS LAUNCHED, AT A TIME WHEN THE “ELECTRIC BET” WAS… DARING…

Electric Motion was founded in 2010 in a small town in the French countryside. The first few years were dedicated to may things not directly related to the world of electric; a few contracts first needed to be honored with major manufacturers in the “Petrol World.” But the gears were turning in our heads…

LATE 2012: BIRTH OF THE EMLITE, OUR FIRST ELECTRIC OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLE

Electric Motion took nearly three years, from its creation in 2010, to release our first electric motorcycle. These three years were spent refining our own innovations, as we were striving to meet the ambitious objectives and specifications we had set around weight, price and performance. This willingness not to rush anything gave birth, at the end of 2012, to our first electric trial motorcycle, the EMLite. Suitable for a wide variety of riding thanks to its different maps (Eco, Hiking, Trial l, Trial 2), this bike appealed to a many different customers.

2013: FIRST COMPETITION MODEL - EMSPORT

Eager to meet the needs of trials competitors, Electric Motion introduced the EMSport in 2013. Right away, we put this model in the hands of rider Bastien Hieyte to contest select rounds of the French Trials Championship. Hieyte finished the year in 4th position, and we gained valuable insights that would allow us to continue to refine our bikes.

2014: COMPETITION SUCCESS IN THE TOP FRENCH CATEGORY

In 2014 Electric Motion again partnered with Bastien Hieyte, this time to contest the entire French Trials Championship. After competing in every round, Hieyte and Electric Motion earned the Top Step of the Podium, winning the Championship in the Senior 2 Category (France’s elite classification). This was a Herculean effort, to only take two years from humble beginnings to rise to the top of the discipline!

2016: THE ESCAPE IS LAUNCHED, A MOTORCYCLE PERFECT FOR EXPLORATION

Building on our success in competition, Electric Motion next sought to diversify by turning to target the more general public. Indeed, the off-road leisure market was growing strongly, but we all needed to face important and ever-tightening regulations to protect the environment. France, Italy, Canada, and Germany are some of the World’s favorite playgrounds for riding, but by 2016 it was almost impossible to use combustion engine vehicles in the middle of nature. Our objective was to reconcile the motorcycle with nature, and our silent, economical, and non-polluting Escape model achieved this.

2019: NEW FACTORY, NEW MODELS - THE NEXT CHAPTER

In 2019, Electric Motion made a giant leap forward when we moved from our tiny, humble factory to a new, fully-modern facility. The new factory is divided into three departments - R&D, Production, and Marketing. This significant investment reflects our strong ambition for a bright future and bringing the best electric motor bikes to market!

2020: FIGHTING FOR TOP HONORS ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE

As was the case worldwide, the COVID-19 Pandemic created many challenges for us here at Electric Motion. But we pushed ahead and persevered. Thanks to the efforts of the promoters, teams, and riders, we were lucky enough to compete in the TrialE World Cup. Our Factory Rider, Gael Chatagno, came into the first weekend of championship seen by many as the Underdog. But Gael and his ePure Race surprised everyone with back-to-back victories in the first weekend of competition! The Electric Motion Team would continue to fight for the rest of the season, and finished a commendable 2nd place in the TrialE World Championship standings!
